About the CRPR Program

An educational and resilience-based training initiative built for those who serve — and those who stand beside them.

What is CRPR?

The Team Defenders Crisis Recognition & Peer Response (CRPR) Training Program is an educational and resilience-based initiative designed to equip Active Duty Military personnel, Veterans, First Responders, and their families with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to recognize, assess, and respond to mental health concerns in both operational and personal environments.

The program emphasizes early identification of behavioral and psychological indicators, peer engagement strategies, risk evaluation, and appropriate referral to professional resources — building operational readiness and long-term mental health resilience.

Who is it For?

  • Active Duty Military Personnel
  • Veterans
  • First Responders & Law Enforcement
  • Military & First Responder Families
  • Unit Leaders & Peer Support Specialists
  • Organizations serving the military community

Why CRPR Matters

The mental health challenges facing military personnel, veterans, and first responders are significant and often go unrecognized until a crisis occurs. CRPR was built to change that — by empowering the people closest to those in need to act early, act confidently, and act effectively.

Through a structured yet adaptable response model, CRPR strengthens peer support networks, enhances operational readiness, and promotes a culture where seeking and offering help is a sign of strength — not weakness.

Crisis Recognition

Participants learn to identify behavioral and psychological warning signs of a mental health crisis before it escalates — in themselves and those around them.

Peer Response Skills

Training covers peer engagement strategies, risk evaluation, de-escalation techniques, and appropriate referral to professional resources.

Certification — 6–8 Hours

Completion of the CRPR program earns a recognized certification through a 6–8 hour structured training course, delivered in-person or virtually.
